Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was the youngest daughter
of media producer, mogul Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Kidada Jones is
her older sibling. Five half-siblings are born due to her father's other
marriages. Her father is African American and her mother Ashkenazi Jewish (a
descendant emigrants from Russia as well as Latvia). Rashida was educated in
Reform Judaism. Her birthplace was Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones has revealed of
her dual race parents, "It was the 1970s and still wasn't that appropriate
for them to be in a relationship." Jones began her professional acting
career was in The Last Don (1997) which was a mini-series inspired by Mario
Puzo's novel. Rashida was also an Harvard University graduate in 1997. She
attended the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks (California). The school awarded
her the most likely to succeed. Arabic (O+O'UO O(c)) is her name. It is the
word for "Major" adult, grown-up and wise. People magazine's 50 Most

Appeared as a vocalist in an ode to Tupac Shakur, who was married to her sister
Kidada Jones. Rashida as well as Kidada's brother Quincy Jones III produced the
track, while their father, Quincy Jones, made appearances, singing the lines
from Shakur's poem "Starry Night" during the introduction. The poem
is the basis for the song's name. Rashida is an African-American, and has more
English, Scottish, or Welsh heritage than his mother (some of his African
ancestors came from the Tikar tribe from Cameroon). Rashida's mother is
Ashkenazi Jewish (of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent). Her paternal
grandparents are of South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively. Her maternal
grandfather was born in New York and her maternal grandmother, who is of
Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in Dublin, Ireland. Since the end of
2009, she has appeared in three different characters using the name
"Karen" on classic cult comedy shows on TV (Freaks and Geeks (1999),
Stella (2005) and The Office (2005)).
