Pollyanna McIntosh
Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal
and Colombia She was born in Colombia and Portugal, but she later moved to
Scotland and began to perform on stage during The Edinburgh Festival. She
relocated to London at the age of 16 and soon was involved in filmmaking in the
indie genre. Her first pay-per-view was as a stoner for Irvine Welsh's The Acid
House (1998). She also worked as an actress and director in the theatre. In
2004, she relocated to Los Angeles to direct "The Woolgatherer" which
was a stage play in which Anne Dudek (a regular guest on Mad Men (2007)/Big
Love (2006)) was the director. The play received rave reviews. Then she landed
her first US movie role as the manipulative new-to-the-scenes Christian,
"Stacy", in Headspace (2005). Her first movie role was in Headspace
(2005) as the manipulative, born-again Christian "Thumper Wint". This

is a hilarious South American farce in which she plays Brit comedian Trevor
Lock's angry wife. She speaks Spanish throughout the film that was shot in
Peru. John Landis directed Burke and Hare (2010). She portrays Isla Fisher's
bestie with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Curry and Tom
Wilkinson. Her intense performance as the lead role in Lucky McKee's The Woman
(2011) made headlines at Sundance 2011. The film received rave reviews and
topped the New York Times readers' preferred films poll. She was awarded three
Best Actress nominations, including Total Film's Frightfest Award as well as
Fright Meter’s.
