Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. The host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell was employed at some of the most prestigious New York restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and landscape. Also, she was a contestant in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food from the age of a child. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her following graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications with a degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I was unable to learn enough, didn't perform enough or work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian tradition and food through her travels in Italy which has had an impact on her cooking style. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children who are facing issues and also is a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell goes on a tour across the United States to share her passion for cooking and food, as well as to talk about her profession in culinary. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to be able share with others what is essential for her.
