Rosamund Pike

In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of a classical violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), as well as an opera singer father, Julian Pike. They worked hard for their families and she traveled extensively across Europe in her early years. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She then began her acting career at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in the National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent when she was discovered. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. Though her debut was a big-budget action film however, the work that followed was primarily in smaller, independent films like Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards), and Pride & Prejudice (2005) as one of the Bennet daughters. A brief appearance in Hollywood film was followed by the action film, Doom (2005) as well as the suspenseful Fracture (2007) however, she returned to smaller films with her outstanding performances in three films: An Education (2009), Dagenham (2010), and An Education. Dagenham (2010) as well as the lead role opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof Johnny English Reborn (2011) as well as portrayed the role of "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). In the film, she starred with Tom Cruise as her female lead in Jack Reacher (2012), she made a return to action-movies.
