Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. She started her career in the industry at the age of four working in commercials and voice overs. Her first film was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she was "Rain Wolfe", a child discovered in the park and taken care of and nurtured by Josie. Sarah would go on to work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was chosen to portray the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she also selected to play "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). Starring Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, and Joe Gould's Secret (2000), and Falcone (2000). Sarah has studied voice as well as tap, jazz, and hip-hop, as well as film and television. Sarah, a New Yorker, also performed as an invited performer for her tap and theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. She was raised by her mother until she was two years old. young. She then went to public schools. She was accepted to PPAS in the 6th grade. This was the school where she remained until her graduation in the year 2008. When Sarah reached the age of 18, she moved to Los Angeles, CA and within two weeks had landed a pilot named "My American Family". Once she was accepted by the airline, the name was changed into Modern Family (2009). Up to date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, most notably the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
